Dedusting system and its importance in industrial processes

Dedusting system and its importance in industrial processes

All types of industries carry out processes in their physical spaces, using raw materials that will be modified and finally transformed into usable and marketable products at the end of the chain.

It is certainly natural that in the course of these procedures (with the handling or manufacture of materials) there is the generation of waste. But along with the generation, the need for treatment for the correct disposal of these same industrial waste is also born. Therefore, it is an obligation of companies to properly treat their waste, to dispose of it in accordance with environmental laws and regulations.

Industrial Pollution

In what it refers to air treatment, the waste generated and which remain in suspension such as:

  • Solid waste: soot, dust particles, chemical dust and fibers
  • Liquid waste: industrial gases and vapors

… Undoubtedly, they need treatment to be released, aiming at the health and protection of all.

We will see here the need for a dedusting system for the treatment of air from industrial processes.

What is the dedusting system?

Some industrial processes generate a high amount of waste as a result of their methods and also of the materials used.

The dedusting system is a system composed of a set of artifacts, which together have the purpose of cleaning the air. With it, it is possible to prevent particulates from spreading through the environment.

This system treats air loaded with waste: dust particles, gases and all kinds and suspended fragments. In this way its release back into the atmosphere is possible.

How does it work?

This system can be built in processing machines, ovens, sieves and boilers or in any place where dust is generated.

The dedusting system consists of air filters, fans, ducts, valves, automatic filter cleaner, pneumatic transport, among others.

Each of these devices has an essential function within the system as a whole, let's see some of them:

Ducts: connect the air intake points to the fans

Sealing valves: allow the removal of waste without loss of pressure

Fans: move air and its gases

Pneumatic conveyor: a network of tubes where waste is propelled or compressed by vacuum.

Air Filters: they are the ones who capture, dam and separate the particles, providing clean air to the environment.

Dedusting systems perform the separation of dust particles with 2 different methods:

  • Larger particles are held back by a gravitational cyclone that pulls them towards itself, until they stick to the walls of the collector.
  • And the smallest particles are captured with bag or cartridge filters.
Which sectors need the dedusting system?

The dedusting process treats the air so that it can be released back into the environment, minimizing the risk of damage. This helps protect the health of local workers as well as other people in general.

Avoiding from serious diseases to specific health problems.

Applications in Industry

  • painting processes
  • abrasive processes
  • Boilers
  • ovens
  • Mining industry
  • cement industry
  • chemical industry
  • food industries
  • Plastic industry, among others
What filters are used in these systems?

The filters used will be indicated as necessary, in view of the waste generated and the degree of purity of the air to be achieved.

Depending on the type of dust or gas generated, one or another filter can be used, also varying the filtering class. of this.

However, one of the most used filters in the filtering process are the cartridge filters.

FSC Circular Cartridge

They are suitable for applications that require retention of solid and dry particles.

The embossed paper guarantees flow uniformity resulting in a long service life. This type of embossed construction on paper ensures high holding capacity and low pressure drop.
